Accessing Do Not Call (DNC) Data in the PropertyRadar App

Updated over 3 weeks ago

What is DNC Data

Do Not Call (DNC) data refers to the information collected from the National Do Not Call Registry, which contains phone numbers of individuals who have opted out of receiving telemarketing calls. Integrating DNC data into PropertyRadar allows users to identify and exclude phone numbers listed on the registry when making cold calls.

Why is it Important for Small Business Owners Who Make Cold Calls to Stay Compliant with DNC

Compliance with DNC regulations is crucial for small business owners engaging in cold calling. Failure to comply can result in legal penalties and fines. Automating the identification and exclusion of DNC numbers ensures businesses can make outbound calls without risking non-compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (TCPA) and the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule. This not only saves time but also protects the business from potential legal issues.

How to Register on the DNC Website and Get a SAN Number

Before accessing DNC data within PropertyRadar, users must register on the National DNC Registry website and obtain a Subscriber Account Number (SAN).

Here are the steps:

  1. Complete the registration process by providing your business details.

  2. Select the area codes you wish to access.
Note that the first five area codes are free, but accessing all area codes can be costly.

  3. Submit the registration form and receive your SAN via email.

  4. Once you have your SAN, you can use it to access the DNC data within PropertyRadar.

How to Setup your PropertyRadar Account to Access DNC Data

To set up PropertyRadar for accessing DNC data, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your PropertyRadar account.

  2. Click the Silhouette in the top right and select Settings

  3. Scroll down to Telemarketing Settings.

  4. Enter your SAN number including the dashes.

  5. Click Update to save your settings to activate DNC features within the app.

Note: When you submit a SAN number, your past saved lists are automatically scrubbed for DNC

Where to access DNC statuses in the PropertyRadar app

After you submit your SAN number in Telemarketing Settings, PropertyRadar will automatically scrub your saved (dynamic, static, or imported) lists against the National Do Not Call (DNC) registry.

If a phone number is not active due to being on the DNC list, or for another reason, a ⚠️ yellow icon will appear next to it throughout the app.

To view the reason the number is not active:

  • Hover over the ⚠️ yellow icon to display a tooltip that explains the status of the phone number.

  • One possible reason is that the number is on the Do Not Call (DNC) list—but it may also be flagged as disconnected, wrong person, blacklisted, or another non-active status.

This phone status indicator appears in various sections of the app where phone numbers are displayed, so you can quickly identify restricted numbers before making calls or sending messages.

  • List Details:

    • Users can view phone status indicators next to phone numbers in the List Details page of any saved or imported list.

  • Property Profile:

    • Phone status is displayed next to contact information in the Property Profile.

  • Exporting Data:

    • You can also include phone statuses in exports. When exporting contact data from PropertyRadar, include Phone Status fields to ensure Do Not Call (DNC) status is reflected in your exported lists.

To include DNC status, make sure your export contains the following fields:

      • Primary Contact Phone 1 Status

      • Primary Contact Mobile Phone 1 Status

      • Secondary Contact Phone 1 Status

      • Secondary Contact Mobile Phone 1 Status

    • Note: Some contacts may have multiple phone numbers associated with them. However, exports only include the first phone number listed for each contact.
This means if the first number is flagged as DNC, your export will reflect that DNC status—even if additional phone numbers for that contact are still active.

Adding DNC Criteria When Building a New List

You can exclude or include records based on the Primary Contact's first phone number Do Not Call (DNC) status when creating a new list.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Discover tab.

  2. Use the Geography Bar to set your desired geographic area.

  3. Click Add Criteria to open the Criteria Panel.

  4. Expand the Owner Details category, then select Owner Phone.

  5. Locate and choose one of the following DNC criteria:

    • Primary Contact Phone DNC

    • Primary Contact Mobile Phone DNC

  6. Set your desired DNC criteria options.
Note: DNC criteria only applies to the first phone number in the Primary Contact’s record. It is possible that there are additional phone numbers for that contact that are active.

  7. Click Add Criteria to apply the criteria.

  8. Continue adding additional criteria if needed, or click Make List to save your list.

Adding DNC Criteria to an Existing List

Even though PropertyRadar automatically scrubs your saved lists for DNC status, you can manually apply DNC filters to further refine your list. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Discover tab.

  2. Click Add Criteria to open the criteria panel.

  3. Expand the Criteria from My Lists category.

  4. Select the saved list you'd like to work with.

  5. Click Add Criteria to apply that list’s existing filters.

  6. Click Add Criteria at the top of the panel to return to the main criteria panel

  7. Expand the Owner Details criteria category, then select Owner Phone.

  8. Locate and choose one of the following DNC criteria:

    • Primary Contact Phone DNC

    • Primary Contact Mobile Phone DNC

  9. Set your desired DNC criteria options.
Note: DNC criteria only applies to the first phone number in the Primary Contact’s record. It is possible that there are additional phone numbers for that contact that are active.

  10. Click Add Criteria to apply the criteria.

  11. Click Make List to save your new list.
